The 78th annual Policeman’s Ball, held November 20, 2021, at Eastern Grace Events to benefit the beloved Shop-with-a-Cop program for needy children was a glittering success!
Ashland Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 3 held the event. Every year, proceeds raised are donated to the Shop-with-a-Cop program – a program that has made wishes come true for hundreds of underprivileged children.

According to F.O.P Lodge President Joshua Steele, Shop-with- a-Cop occurs twice a year in our area – once during the Back-to- School season and once before Christmas. The program allots $200 per child and seeks to provide both a smile and to meet the needs of each child-participant involved.

Historically, the ball has been held each year the Saturday before Thanksgiving, but Steele said next year, the ball may be held earlier in order to give the program additional time to identify more children to participate in the Christmas Shop-with-a-Cop event.

Steele says many believe this is a closed event, but the ball is always open to the public. He invites all surrounding-area citizens to attend this year’s upcoming 79th annual Policeman’s Ball.

“Ticket prices are extremely reasonable and there is always a catered dinner, open bar, dancing, and a silent auction that includes items such as guns, tv’s, spa visits and more,” Steele said.

The date and time for this year’s upcoming ball are to be announced. Those interested in attending should check their community calendar of events or follow the F.O.P Lodge No. 3 Facebook page for updates.
