When you can’t get to the golf course for some reason, you can always show up at a couple of places in the Tri-State area. Should you find yourself rained or snowed out from some of the area’s golf courses or if you simply want to try your hand at the game in a fun setting, Tap That Sports in Ashland and Bonneyfiddle Golf & Lounge in Portsmouth has a place for your foursome.
Tap That Sports, located right off Highway 60 in Camp Landing between Malibu Jacks and Sandy's Gaming Center in Ashland, features eight of the world's best HD sports simulators. Here, you can tee it up and play simulated top courses. You can get a taste of what it's like to be a professional golfer and compete against
your friends across more than 75 unique multiplayer sports challenges and games.
For those who haven’t been, Camp Landing is an entertainment district that features Tap That Sports, owned by Jason Camp, who lives in South Point, Ohio.

“There is indoor golf, as well as 40 other sports on simulators,” he said. “There is baseball, football, soccer, basketball, hockey, lacrosse — you can kick a field goal in a football game and pass the football to receivers running routes and drive the golf ball on the best courses on the PGA Tour.”
Camp said Tap That Sports has the world’s most accurate and best golf simulators.
“We have the most outstanding technology in the world,” Camp said. “Our HD screens are 17-feet wide and 12-feet high, so it’s amazing to play golf courses from all around the world.”
Camp said golfers can also participate in long-distance drive contests or closest to the pin activities.
“We also have a teaching simulator where there are additional cameras and you can record your swing,” Camp added. “You can slow it down and see where you need to improve. We are also going to have a golf-pro here to give pointers and get lessons from a PGA professional right here.”

Camp has about two decades of experience working in the NFL, NHL, MLB and the PGA as well as years of proven experience in the restaurant world. If readers want to play more like a pro, they can visit the website at

Just a few miles down the Ohio River in Portsmouth, the Bonneyfiddle Golf & Lounge might be the place to go. It’s located at 347 Third St. Owners Justin Lute and Derrick Pennington opened the lounge in September 2023.
“You can come in and play a round of golf with your buddies on our simulators or hit the driving range,” Pennington said. “We have three bays, and you can watch games on TV while you’re playing your round of golf. It’s a sports-lover’s paradise.”
Lute said the golf lounge also works on clubs and has merchandise to purchase.
“We are teamed up with some local restaurants and you can have food delivered while you play golf,” Lute said. “Each golf bay has a bar table and stools, and you can eat and relax there while you wait your turn to hit the ball.”
There are new and used clubs to rent or buy as well as golf bags, balls, and other accessories. “We do grip changing too and have a lot of golf apparel,” Pennington added.
Lounge goers can also take golf lessons there or spend time at the arcade games.
“Our simulators are the Foresight Sports Brand, which is rated the number one simulator company in the world,” Lute said. “As far as golf clubs, we have Cleveland and Srixon and we’re getting more in soon.”

Pennington said for more information or to reserve a tee time, visit the website at

“You can go there or call to get a spot,” he said. “It’s just a great place to come to and have a lot of fun with friends, golf, and sports.”
