Located at 12533 Virginia Blvd. Ashland, KY 41102, is Oasis Point RV Resort-Adventure Lake. This 28-acre campground boasts a four-acre lake fed by an underground spring, 46 full-hook-up campsites with city water, sewer, and 20/30/50 amps at every site. The property opened in January of 2021 shortly after owners Diamond and Lisa Lewis, Brandee Lewis, David Wooten, and Chris and Christy Schuler purchased the property.
“Fifteen years ago, we went to Ace Adventure Park with our family and fell in love with that place. Since that first moment, we’ve been trying to figure out a place to do that here in our hometown,” said Diamond Lewis.
The property was purchased from the late Bill Walters, who had already started turning the property into a campground. “When we met with him initially, his vision was aligned with ours,” Lewis said.
Once the property was acquired, the Lewises went right to work finishing campsites; adding trees, bushes, and flowers, and adding signage all over the property. After that came the beach area. Four hundred twenty-five tons of sand were placed to create a family-friendly beach area on the four-acre lake located on the property. The Lewises even had fiberoptic WIFI towers placed throughout the park so guests can easily have access to the internet for all sorts of needs.
Another popular feature at Oasis Pointe is the ten rental campers located on the premises. These campers can hold anywhere from four to twelve people. They are full service, include all amenities needed, and boast an outdoor grill and furniture. There is a 24/7 handyman on site for any and all needs guests may have during their stay.
“We want to create an intimate, peaceful experience for our campers, “Lewis said.
Construction on a water slide and zipline, just like you would see at an Ace Adventure Park, started in May of this year and was finished by Memorial Day 2023. These amenities will be open all summer. The lake water where these amenities are located is tested monthly and is pristine allowing you to see your feet for up to three feet in the water.
In addition to the lake, zipline, waterslide, beach area, and playground, fishing is also available in a small man-made pond on the property.
The Lewises say there are lots of exciting plans for Oasis Pointe in the upcoming future. The RV Resort will be located just one mile from the equestrian center and racetrack coming to our area soon, and currently, there are plans for cabins and treehouses where you can watch unobstructed sunsets. Plans are underway to add a splash pad and more arial ziplines going from platform to platform.
“We plan to offer free kid camps for local children by next year, so preparations to build a bath house to accommodate this venture are underway,” Diamond Lewis said.
“We also have plans to host women’s retreats and some sort of a grief and bereavement retreat will be among the many retreats we will offer,” Lisa Lewis said.
